Who are you?
I'm Juliette Augustine, a web developer and graphic artist based out of the NYC tri-state area.
What is this site?
At the moment, this is just a repository for small personal projects and designs, and serves as the endpoint for some APIs that I've configured. It's also where my webserver is hosted, in case you'd like to contact me @ this location, here being the site julietteaugustine.com.
While I don't currently have any forward-facing pages for you to access, I may move some portfolio pieces into this space in the next year. Those of you already familiar with my work are advised to continue following my other website and socials as per usual.
If you're a web developer, why is this just HTML/CSS?
As fun as modern frameworks are to play with, you can't argue with the speed and simplicity of some good ol' fashioned code. More and more functions and features are being added to these classics with every year. Arguably we're already at a stage features such as variables and layers are giving CSS preprocessors a run for their money, and templating functionality in HTML will also have some fun impacts in small-scope projects without the overhead of larger Javascript libraries.
Of course, I may be a bit biased being nostalgic for websites of old.
